Step 1: Unboxing Your GEM

Carefully unpack your GEM device and verify all components are included: GEM wearable, charging cable, and quick start guide.

Step 2: Charging Your Device

Connect the charging cable to your GEM and plug it into a USB power source. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours.

Charging Steps:

1. Connect the USB charging cable to the charging port on the back of the GEM.

2. Plug the other end into a USB power source (wall adapter, computer, etc.).

3. The LED indicator will be red while charging.

4. When fully charged, the LED will be Green. If the light stays red after 2 hours, disconnect and reconnect the GEM, the light will turn green.

Battery Life & Information:

A full charge takes approximately 2 hours and provides up to 3 days of continuous use, depending on your settings.

For optimal battery life, avoid exposing your GEM to extreme temperatures and charge it before the battery is completely depleted.

Step 3: Wearing Your GEM

Place the GEM on your wrist with the sensors touching your skin. Adjust the strap for a firm comfortable fit. The GEM should be making contact with your skin, while not being restrictive in any way.

Proper Placement & Fit:

1. Place the GEM on your wrist with the sensors facing your skin.

2. Position it about one finger-width above your wrist bone.

3. Adjust the strap so it's snug but comfortable - not too tight or too loose.

4. The GEM should stay in place during normal movement but shouldn't leave marks on your skin.

Important Advisory

For consistency of readings use the same wrist each time.

GEM Wearables are splash proof. Do not submerge your GEM.

Step 4: Download the App

Download the E4L GEM app from the App Store or Google Play Store and create your account.

1. Visit the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

2. Search for "E4L GEM" or scan the QR code on your quick start guide.

3. Download and install the app.

4. Open the app and create an account or log in with your E4L account if you already have one.

5. Complete your profile with basic information for more personalized insights.

Requirements

The app requires iOS 12.0+ or Android 8.0+ and Bluetooth 4.0 or higher.

Step 5: Connect Your GEM

Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your GEM device via Bluetooth.

1. Pairing Steps

1. Ensure your GEM is charged and within 30 feet of your phone.

2. Enable Bluetooth on your phone.

3. Open the E4L GEM app and log in with your email address and password

4. Tap "Add Device" on the home screen.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing process.

6. Double press the GEM button if you think Bluetooth is turned off

7. Once connected, the app will confirm the connection.

2. Update Firmware (important)

Please follow these steps to download the latest Firmware on to your device:
1. Ensure the GEM is connected to the app (you will see a battery charge % next to a blue Bluetooth icon on the app's Home screen.
2. Go to your Profile (top left icon)
3. Select your GEM to go to the Manage Device screen
4. Select Update Firmware. The update will take a few minutes and your GEM will restart. The app will clearly indicate when the process is complete.

The latest Firmware is 4.5.6

GEM Button Functions

Once your Firmware is updated the GEM button will only be used tu torn Bluetooth On and Off

One short press will display a light sequence:
Blue/Red - Bluetooth is now OFF
Blue/Green - Bluetooth is now ON

Step 6: View Your First Data

Once connected, your GEM will begin collecting data. View your first energy readings in the app dashboard.

Dashboard & Data Updates

After connecting your GEM:

1. The GEM will immediately begin collecting data.

2. Initial readings will appear on your app dashboard within 1-2 hours.

3. Your dashboard will display:
- Main Emotional Transformation
- Vitality Energy
- Emotional Strength
- Sleep Efficiency
4. Tap on any metric to view more detailed information and historical trends.

5. The initial pulse reading may take a few hours to complete and display in the app.

6. The GEM app must be connected to the internet (via Wi-Fi or mobile data) to process the data it receives from your GEM.

Understanding Readings

The GEM uses advanced biometric sensors to measure subtle energy fields and physiological responses. Your first readings establish a baseline that will help track changes over time.

Vitality Score: Generated once every 24 hours and updated daily. Only one vitality reading is displayed per day.

Emotion Scores: Updated with every successful pulse reading, reflecting real-time emotional trends.


Bluetooth and Connectivity

Once GEM is paired, it does not require continuous Bluetooth.

The Protect cycle runs automatically and stores data offline.

Data sync occurs the next time Bluetooth reconnects (recommended daily).

Correct functions require Bluetooth to be ON during program use.

Vitality Score

Vitality Score:

This updates once daily at 6:00 a.m., reflecting the average of all successful pulse readings over the previous 24 hours.

It is essentially a snapshot of your “battery charge” as you start your day.

A score of 75 or higher indicates excellent energy reserves.
A lower score suggests your body may benefit from more rest or restorative activities.

Emotion Score

Measures your ability to process and manage emotions effectively

1. Updated with every successful reading

2. GEM attempts pulse readings every 15 minutes; only successful readings are used

3. History: Two views are available. The Daily view shows how your emotional score shifted throughout the day. The weekly view shows a daily average to see how your score shifted throughout the week.

Sleep

*This feature is currently in beta testing and is currently only measuring sleep quantity at this time. Sleep scores can take several days to display correctly as they need time to establish a baseline.

Reflects the effectiveness and restorative quality of your sleep. Wear your GEM during sleep to gain insights into your sleep quality, energy restoration, and circadian rhythms. Receive recommendations for better rest.

CORRECT

Correct Details

The Correct feature allows users to run energetic support programs when needed.

These programs deliver targeted supportive information through light and magnetic fields to harmonize the body-field.


How to Run a Correct Program:

Open the E4L GEM App → Correct section. Choose a category and select a program. A confirmation will be shown on the app. The information is transmitted through the GEM for 1 minute.

Although each Correct program runs for only about a minute, its energetic influence continues to resonate in the body-field, often supporting balance and clarity for hours afterward. We suggest waiting 10-15 minutes before running a new program to allow the body the integrate the information.

Energy

1. Energize: quick uplift in alertness and stamina.

2. Recharge: restore depleted energy, supportive after stress or exertion.

Focus

1. Creativity: unlock imagination and flow for fresh ideas.

4. Connectivity and Syncing

Does my GEM need to be connected to my phone all the time to work?

No. Your GEM does not need to stay connected to your phone continuously.

The only functions that require a phone connection are:

- Calculating your scores in the app

- Sending Correct programmes to the GEM

For all other functions, the GEM works independently. It will continue to run every hour, sending corrective biosignatures to your body even when your phone is not nearby.

The GEM also has built-in memory that stores 48 hours’ worth of data. The next time it connects to your phone, it will update your scores with the stored data. Data transfer can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or more depending on how long the GEM was running without a Bluetooth connection.

How do I turn Bluetooth on or off?

Starting with Firmware 4.4.5 the GEM button is only used to turn Bluetooth on and off on your GEM.

Press and hold the button for 1 second, then release:


A blue/red light indicates Bluetooth is off.

A blue/green light indicates Bluetooth is on.


When your GEM and phone are connected, the Home screen of the app should show a % representing the battery charge as well as a blue icon next to it.


If the icon is Blue, the GEM and Phone are connected. Your phone also needs to have data or internet access to upload the information to our servers.

If the icon is yellow, this means Bluetooth is turned on on your phone but the GEM Bluetooth may be off


If the icon is red, your phone's Bluetooth may be off.

Why won't my phone connect to the GEM?

Ensure the Bluetooth is turned on on your phone and that the E4LGEM app has permission to use Bluetooth.


Reset steps:

Delete the app from your phone

Reinstall the app and tap "Allow" on all permission pop-ups

Place the GEM on the charger (red light turns on)

Press and hold the side button for 20 seconds

After about 15 seconds the red light will turn off, indicating the GEM is restarting

How do I reset my GEM?

5. Battery and Charging

Does my GEM need to be connected to my phone all the time to work?

With normal use, the GEM battery lasts approximately 3 days on a single charge.
Running regular on-demand corrections and leaving Bluetooth will consume more battery.
We suggest turning Bluetooth off at night on your GEM and turning it back on it the morning to synch your data as you get ready for your day.

When should I charge my GEM?

Charge your GEM when the battery level drops below 20%. You can monitor the battery level in the app (requires an active Bluetooth connection).

Tips for extending battery life?

Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures

Turn Bluetooth off on your GEM at night

Turn Bluetooth back on in the morning, charge your device, and allow it to sync with your app

What do the charging lights mean?

Solid red = charging

Solid green = fully charged

Light off after unplugging = normal (charger disconnected)

The LED light on the GEM serves as a way to notify you of the state of the GEM Wearable. This is not an indicator of anything that is going on within the app.

4. No Light During Use: Normal operation — GEM is active but discreet.

Why is the top light off during normal use?

This is normal. The light on the top of the GEM is not on during normal operation. It only turns on in the following situations:

- Low battery: The light will flash red.

- Bluetooth on/off: When pressing the side button, the light will flash:

- Green/blue when Bluetooth is switched on

- Red/blue when Bluetooth is switched off

- During regular use, if the GEM is working properly, the light will remain off.
- Red when the GEM is charging
- Green the GEM is plugged into the charger and fully charged

How do I know if my GEM is working?

There are several ways to confirm your GEM is functioning properly:

Bluetooth connection:

- If Bluetooth is enabled on both your GEM and your phone, the app’s home screen will show the device as connected, with a battery percentage and a blue symbol next to it.

- If your GEM was previously paired but is not currently connected, the symbol will appear yellow. Check Bluetooth is turned on on the GEM by pressing the side button once. You should see a blue/green flash. If it is a red/blue flash, you have turned Bluetooth off and need to double press again.

Indicator lights:

- You will not see any lights on the top of the device during normal operation.

- Every 15 minutes, the lights facing your skin will flash briefly indicating a pulse reading.

- When you send a Correct program from the app, the lights facing your skin will flash for one minute (information transfer).

These indicators together confirm that your GEM is working as intended.

What does the button on the side of the GEM do?

The button found on the side of the GEM does not interact with the GEM App. Instead it turns Bluetooth on and off on your GEM.

One short press on your GEM button will display a light sequence:

Blue/Red - Bluetooth is now OFF

Blue/Green - Bluetooth is now ON

Does GEM emit EMFs?

The GEM connects to your phone using only an ultra-low-strength Bluetooth signal, which produces minimal electromagnetic fields (EMFs) — far lower than those from a phone, smartwatch, or typical wearable.

Beyond this brief connection, the GEM does not emit conventional EMFs. Instead, it produces supportive magnetic and light fields that carry information patterns designed to harmonize with your body-field.


These fields are gentle, non-disruptive, and purpose-built to help restore natural energy flow and balance — not to stimulate the body electrically like most EMF-emitting devices.

Bluetooth connection explained

After the GEM has been initially paired with your phone’s E4LGEM app it does not require an ongoing Bluetooth connection.

The Protect cycle continues to run on its own and the GEM will continue to collect data. It will need a connection to your phone every 24 hours in order to synchronize with your app and update your scores. We recommend turning Bluetooth off on your GEM and phone at night then turning it on in the morning and placing the GEM by your phone as you get ready to start your day.

Of course a bluetooth connection is needed anytime you want to run an on-demand correction from the Correct menu. Once the program has been selected and the signal has been sent to your GEM you can turn Bluetooth off on both.


The GEM button is used to turn Bluetooth on or off:

Press and hold the button for 1 second, then release.

A blue/red light indicates Bluetooth is off.

A blue/green light indicates Bluetooth is on.

How does GEM compare to other wearables?

The GEM uses ultra-low-power Bluetooth (about 0.1 milliwatt):

Around 10 times less than an Apple Watch

Around 100 times less than AirPods

Does my GEM need to be connected to my phone all the time to work?

With normal use, the GEM battery lasts approximately 3 days on a single charge.
Running regular on-demand corrections and leaving Bluetooth will consume more battery.
We suggest turning Bluetooth off at night on your GEM and turning it back on it the morning to synch your data as you get ready for your day.

Is GEM safe to wear continuously?

Yes. For optimal results, wear your GEM at all times apart from charging.

Key points:

Each user should have their own GEM device linked to their individual app account for the most accurate and beneficial experience.

How do I reset my password?

To reset your password, tap "Forgot Password" on the login screen of the E4L GEM app. Enter your email address and follow the instructions sent to your inbox.

Can I use multiple devices with one account?

Your pulse reading data is stored in your app account, not on the GEM itself. This means you can switch to a new GEM device without losing your history — just make sure all data from your previous GEM has synced to the app before switching.

Compatibility

Does GEM work with tablets?
